The Institute of Metal Finishing will be holding their IMFair 2011 at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford from the 14-16 June 2011.

RAF Museum hosts exhibition and conference for cutting-edge aviation developments

This popular conference and exhibition provides an excellent international forum for sharing surface finishing knowledge and best practice techniques for sustainable aviation and defence materials technology.

Following on from the success of the IMFair held at the Museum in 2009, the event will be the UK’S largest and most in-depth surface coating and surface engineering conference and exhibition, aimed directly at the aerospace and defence industries. The aim of the IMFair2011 is to connect surface finishing researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry, to meet and share cutting-edge developments. An impressive list of high quality technical papers will be presented by many well known names from the aerospace and coatings industry both from the UK and International organisations attracting visitors from afar.

The event will commence with a drinks reception within the National Cold War Exhibition under the wings of the mighty Vulcan bomber which is sure to create an unforgettable atmosphere for the guests. This will be followed by lectures and presentations in the Museum’s purpose built Lecture Theatre. A supporting exhibition, housed in a marquee located between the National Cold War Exhibition and Warplanes Hangar, allows major suppliers to showcase their latest products and services.

Paul Wynn, Director Public Relations at The Institute of Metal Finishing says:

“We are delighted to be returning our IMFair exhibition and conference to the RAF Museum Cosford this week. The National Cold War Exhibition is truly a fitting home for our event”

The RAF Museum, home to one of the largest and most impressive collections of aviation history, is an impressive and truly unique venue. It has the flexibility and expertise to cater for any event, including conferences, exhibitions, meetings, gala dinners and product launches. For more information on holding an unusual event at this unique venue, please contact the Museum’s Corporate Events Team on 01902 376207 or email events-cosford@rafmuseum.org
