Salop Leisure out to impress Britain in Bloom Judges

Leading caravan dealership Salop Leisure is determined to impress Britain in Bloom competition judges when they begin a tour of Shrewsbury at the company’s headquarters on Monday, July 18.
Tony Bywater, Salop Leisure’s chairman, will be welcoming the Heart of England regional judges and is looking forward to showing them the company’s multi-million pound holiday home village, secure caravan storage facility and a wide range of floral displays.
One display in particular is likely to catch the judges’ eye. A mother duck has chosen a flower arrangement in the busy touring caravan display area to lay her eggs. Having laid up to eight eggs, the wild Mallard duck has now taken up residence on the nest, partially camouflaged by the flowers.
“We are absolutely delighted and honoured that Shrewsbury Town Council has chosen Salop Leisure as the venue to meet and greet the Britain in Bloom judges,” said Mr Bywater.
“The judges will be given a short introduction to the business by managing director Mark Bebb, who will explain the positive partnership that exists between the town council and businesses in Shrewsbury to make the town look so beautiful.
“It is also vitally important to our business that we maintain beautiful lawns, flower displays and shrubs to welcome customers and visitors.
“Our new holiday home village development, which opened last year, has been sympathetically designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape, with two large pools and wildflower areas, which attract a wildlife.
“We wish Shrewsbury every success in this year’s Britain in Bloom competition.”
Mr Bywater chaired the committee when the town won the Britain in Bloom title in the small city or large town category in 2006. He has described this year’s floral displays in Shrewsbury as the best ever.
Salop Leisure sponsors the floral display at Weeping Cross roundabout.
