Successful lubricants company recruits new staff
Shropshire oil blenders and marketers Morris Lubricants has recruited three new members of staff to support its growth plans.

Steve Reading, 45, from Newtown, joins the Shrewsbury-based company as engineering manager, Neil Taylor, 31, from Cressage, joins as IT manager and Robert Pryce, 22, from Shrewsbury has been recruited as a management trainee.
Mr Reading previously worked as engineering operations manager for fashion company Laura Ashley, based in Newtown, for 13 years. “It’s a very exciting time to be joining the company with the investment that is being made to transform the manufacturing part of the business,” he said.
Mr Taylor, who joins Morris Lubricants after 14 years with Aga Rangemaster, is responsible for IT systems throughout the company. He is working with Mr Reading and the management team to improve and enhance the company’s business continuity plan and to set up a disaster recovery suite.
Mr Pryce, who joins his father, David, the commercial manager, on the company’s payroll, previously worked as a sales administrator for William A. Lewis Renault and as a compliance assistant for County Training in the town.
During his training, he will gain experience working in all departments of the company. “I have heard only good things from my dad about the company, which provides good career prospects,” he said.
Morris Lubricants, Britain’s leading family-owned, independent oil blenders and marketers, is investing £600,000 at its Castle Foregate works to centralise distribution, improve working practices, process flow and health and safety and increase blending capacity.
“This significant new investment both in the works and new staff will help the company to meet growing demand for modern engine oils, as we continue to diversify our product range,” said managing director Andrew Goddard.
The company, which employs 140 people, provides a service to 4,000 UK customers and exports to more than 65 countries worldwide.
