Shropshire business man cuts car maintenance costs
A Shropshire businessman fed up of paying “over the odds” for car repairs has set up his own motor repair business to help motorists drive down costs during the recession.

Security firm and events boss Trevor Bate, who runs the RMP Group in Telford, has branched out to create RMP Automotive with the aim of giving Shropshire motorists a much better deal.
Replacement motor parts will be charged at cost price with only mechanic’s labour charges to be paid by the customer, promised Trevor.
“Parking charges are astronomic, car tax and insurance has gone up and repair bills are high. The ordinary driving public are being costed out of affording to run a small car,” said Trevor, whose RMP Guarding company vehicles are also serviced at their garage.
“I just got fed up of paying over the odds for car parts. Garages buy them at cost and some will double the price for the customer. It’s just not fair especially in these times of recession.”
A total of one million UK motorists are reported to have ditched the car and taken to alternative methods of transport including the bus, bike or walking due to rising motor costs.
