A well-established firm of chartered accountants has seen such a growing demand for its services across Shropshire that it has opened a dedicated new office in Telford.

Exciting growth adds up to new base for accountants in Shropshire

Gilbert & Co has just moved into its new base at Telford Space Centre on the Halesfield Business Park, in an expansion designed to help the company bring its range of services closer to its growing client base across the region.

The firm, founded by Brian Gilbert – a chartered accountant with more than 30 years experience – already has a long-standing presence in Essington, near Wolverhampton, but has seen a number of appointments from the thriving SME and start-up business community in Telford, Shrewsbury and the rest of the county. “Shropshire is a real hot-bed for new and growing businesses who are just the sort of ambitious and exciting companies we are particularly keen to work alongside,” Brian Gilbert, Senior Partner of Gilbert & Co, explained.

“Our hands-on approach to supporting SMEs and start-ups has resulted in sustained growth at our Wolverhampton office, and with our client base across Shropshire having expanded at a rapid rate during recent months, we felt the time was right to invest further in the county and open our dedicated new office in Telford. It also allowed us to tap into some of the great accounting talent in the county, and we’re looking forward to further growing our team as our new base becomes even more established.”

The company provides a comprehensive range of services, including accountancy, company formation, business planning, banking consultancy and taxation advice. As well as developing significant expertise of working specifically with SMEs and start-up businesses over the past 25 years, the firm also specialises in working with the construction and healthcare sectors.

“With the current challenging economic circumstances there can be something of a reluctance from some finance professionals to support new and start-up enterprises, but we believe passionately that it’s companies like these that are the backbone of our economy and so we’re keen to do whatever we can to help them to thrive and prosper,” Brian added.

Founded in the 1980s, Gilbert & Co Chartered Accountants provides a wide range of services, from accountancy, taxation, and financial advice, to business planning, banking, and business consultancy. Covering Shropshire, Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands, the company prides itself on a philosophy of offering a dedicated, friendly, professional and knowledgeable service, with a particular emphasis on giving SME and start-up enterprises the bespoke advice and support they need to succeed.
