Ludlow jam-maker is star of the show during opening of cookware showroom
A Ludlow jam-maker proved to be the star of the show during the official opening of a new cookware showroom on the south Shropshire border.

Sara-Jane Brough from the Ludlow Jam Pan impressed staff and more than 60 visitors with her Japonica ornamental quince and coriander jelly and damson, cob nut and walnut mincemeat during the event at AGA Twyford in Leominster on Saturday.
Sara-Jane was joined by Rangemaster specialist, Lindsey Payne and Aga expert Marcia Poole during the event which raised more than £130 for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Sara-Jane said: “I tend to use fruit and produce that is in season and organic. Japonica ornamental quince has beautiful flowers and it is very pretty to look at but people don’t realise that it has a culinary use in the kitchen too.”
Sara-Jane started the Ludlow Jam Pan in October 2008 and it really evolved from a hobby of serious foraging and using up all the vegetable and fruit gluts from the garden.
Sara-Jane said: "I really loved the idea of home grown traditional uses for all these fruit and veg and decided to start the business from there."
Since then it has grown from doing the farmers market in Ludlow and various food festivals and an appearance on the Hairy Bikers food tour of Britain increased interest.
AGA Twyford moved to Leominster Enterprise Park relocating in the large purpose built factory, offices and showroom. The showroom has been designated as a Deluxe Design Centre by AGA Rangemaster Ltd and is featured on the Rangemaster website.
Rose Norman for AGA Twyford said: “We were delighted with the number of visitors who decided to come along. The Betty Shop is looking simply stunning with lots of new product lines for the kitchen, home and garden.
“The move means that many more of the products will be constantly on show allowing prospective customers to take their time when it comes to choosing their dream kitchen.”
The showroom is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
