Lanyon Bowdler say a fond farewell to long serving colleague
It was with fondness in their hearts, that the partners and staff at Lanyon Bowdler recently said goodbye to one of their longest standing colleagues as she embarked on the next chapter of her life in retirement. Ann Ferrington joined Lanyon Bowdler who were then known as Lanyons, in 1975.

As partner Neil Lorimer highlighted during his speech for Ann, this was the year the Conservative Party first elected a female leader, the average house price was set at £12,000.00 and a gallon of petrol cost just 0.72p. A lot has changed in 36 years, but happily for Lanyon Bowdler Ann has remained a constant with them throughout all those years. Ann joined the firm as a secretary working for David Stansfield, she found this to be a valuable role and felt it set her in good stead as she progressed into her next role as a cashier within the accounts department.
Ann’s natural skills and head for numbers allowed her to progress her career, becoming accounts manager from 1980 until 2005. Neil Lorimer commented on Ann’s invaluable contributions over the years, assisting in complex financial issues surrounding many cases. Most notably, a personal injury case in 1990 involving 39 claimants and multiple accounts in which Ann showed her natural talent and leadership skills in finalising the accounts in an expedient manner.
Ann has made many life long friends since joining Lanyon Bowdler all of whom will miss her presence both at the Wellington office, where Ann was based and throughout the firm’s various offices around the county. All at Lanyon Bowdler wish Ann a very happy and prosperous retirement.
