Scores of bus and coach drivers volunteered to be breath tested at the NEC’s Coach & Bus Live 2011 show before carrying out a test drive as part of a road safety campaign.

Bus and coach drivers get educated on safety by Shropshire firm

TTC Automotive, part of the TTC Group, which educates thousands of people each year in a bid to reduce road crashes, aim to get their message home – even to professional drivers.

TTC Automotive’s Evita Hussey said: “Bus and coach drivers welcomed the breath tests. They were very co-operative and extremely interested in hearing information about the morning after and how long alcohol stays in the system.”

No-one failed the intoximeter test, she stressed.

Drivers got the chance to test their driving skills on a specially designed course at the event. Driver perception and road skills were put to the test with a demanding course including driver distractions to test drivers to the limit with a skills assessment.

TTC Automotive, of Hadley Park, Telford, educates the corporate sector including running mandatory driver CPC training for lorry, bus and other professional drivers as well as motorists who drive for work.
