Businesses across Shropshire are being invited to attend the first in a series of free seminars aimed at improving workplace health and safety in the county.

Safety seminar set for crackdown on carelessness

Shrewsbury-based consultancy Building Trust in Safety Ltd is hosting an hour-long presentation from 9.00am on Wednesday, November 30th at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce’s Trevithick House HQ in Telford.

The event, provocatively titled “How to Kill Your Colleagues…”, will see Ruth Ross, Director of Building Trust in Safety Ltd, outline how adopting a careless approach to health and safety can put a company’s employees, customers, and profits at risk, before going on to providing practical advice on how to avoid some of the most common pitfalls.

“Although the seminar is called ‘How to Kill Your Colleagues…’, we will of course focus our attention on explaining the necessary procedures and examples of good practice that will make sure a business’s workforce, and just as importantly its customers, remain safe,” Ruth Ross revealed.

Following on from the initial presentation, Ruth and other expert members from the Building Trust in Safety Ltd team will also be holding a number of half-hour ‘drop-in’ meetings between 10.00am and midday, where businesses can arrange a free appraisal of their current health and safety policies and procedures.

“Appointments can be booked in advance of the event, or interested parties can come and arrange one on the day of the presentation,” Ruth Ross added.

In addition to the first seminar set to be held on November 30th, similar events will also be staged on 25th January, 29th February, and 28th March 2012. For further information about any of the sessions, along with details on how to pre-book a free health and safety appraisal, please visit the Events and Training section of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce website.
