A Shropshire woman is capitalising on what she believes is resurgence in the do-it-yourself craft industry, by launching an opportunity for people to attend classes on how to create jewellery and clothing accessories from precious metals, beads and knitting.

Shropshire jewellery designer encourages budding craftspeople

Shrewsbury based Jules Harper has opened a stand in the town’s Market Hall, where she will be demonstrating her skills in Fimo and Mokume Gane (polymer clay) and fine sliver (precious metal clay) manipulation. She will also be offering taster sessions every Tuesday at The Market Hall with the aim of generating sufficient demand in the complete classes she runs from home, seven days a week, for one to three people interested in these creative crafts.

While the concept of Jules Harper Classes for Crafters is new, she has over ten years experience in the industry, six of which were spent running an e-commerce store, selling the materials for jewellery making. With a certificate in precious metal clay, time spent studying at Birmingham School of Jewellery and some of her designs featuring on ITV’s this Morning breakfast show, she is suitably qualified.

Jules Harper said: “Learning about how to make your own unique designs can be fun and a great way to gain a new skill. I hope the taster sessions at The Market Hall will inspire people to take the next step into attending classes and unlocking their visible creativity!”

Jules Harper Classes for Crafters start at £10 for a taster session in The Market Hall, Shrewsbury and £120 for a five hour course, including materials. For more information, visit: www.julesharper.co.uk.
