A popular market stall selling a range of ethically traded, wholefood products has now expanded at Shrewsbury’s indoor Market Hall.

Snappy expansion for Shrewsbury market trader

Snapdragon Wholefoods, which launched in March this year, has proven to be so popular among shoppers that owner Jan Bridges has had to increase the size of her shop to cope with demand.

The stall now carries a larger range including loose herbs and spices and South African foods.

A range of oats, assorted grains (including gluten free), muesli, dried fruit, nuts, pulses, rice, flour, pasta, seed butters, juices and snacks are also available as well as ecological household cleaner and shampoo refills.

Mrs Bridges, from Shrewsbury said: “I have been working with wholefoods for more than 25 years, from cooking with the foods for personal use, to working in a factory using organic wholefoods to produce nourishing ready meals. The business has gone from strength to strength since we opened in March, the extra space means we can now carry more stock than before.”

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the market added: “Snapdragon Wholefoods has been a great addition to the diverse range of eateries and food products available here at the Market Hall, we are very pleased to see Jan is doing so well and that the business has already expanded.”

Snapdragon Wholefoods is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 8.30am to 4pm and Thursdays 8.30am until 1pm.
