Salop Leisure launches mission to promote caravan ownership
A leading Shropshire and Mid Wales company is on a mission to introduce caravans and motorhomes to more first time buyers this year.
Salop Leisure, which has sales centres in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Stourport, plans to take its products to national and regional shows, garden and shopping centres and selected events.
The company, the caravan dealer of the year 2012, will be looking to capitalise on increased interest in British holidays when it attends The Caravan and Motorhome Show at its new venue, Manchester EventCity, from January 19-22.
Salop Leisure will be displaying a Willerby Winchester two bedroomed caravan holiday home on its stand at the show, while George Harris Stewart Edwards, two of the company’s sales executives, will be helping to man the Swift Group stand.
Billed as the Midlands and North’s favourite outdoor leisure show, the event is supported by all the leading names in the caravan and motorhome industry and showcases all the latest 2012 models.
Salop Leisure will also be promoting its innovative park finding service to customers, who will be given a virtual tour of more than 200 caravan parks in Mid Wales and the Heart of England. The hi-tech facility allows customers to browse at their leisure to find their dream park location.
“The main reason why we attend so many shows across is to give people an opportunity to see the latest caravan and motorhome models at their leisure and hopefully attract new customers,” said marketing manager Scott Higgins.
“Many people are unaware of the major advances that have been made in touring and static caravans and motorhomes.”
Another event already booked into the company’s diary is Malvern Spring Gardening Show at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern from May 10-13.
“These shows provide the ideal platform to sell the benefits of caravan holiday home ownership in the Heart of England and Mid Wales, which have some of the best caravan parks in the whole of Europe and offer much better value for money than other parts of the UK,” added Mr Higgins.
