Businesses urged to support Shropshire County Show
Businesses are being urged to pledge their support for this year’s Shropshire County Agricultural Show by sponsoring the event for as little as £75.
The event, which takes place on May 26 this year, will see thousands of people of all ages from across the UK head to the Berwick Road showground in Shrewsbury for a day of education, entertainment and enjoyment.
Among the attractions this year will be Big Pete, Europe’s largest monster truck, Titan the Robot, the region’s finest livestock, a Young Farmers programme, traders from across the Midlands and plenty of activities for youngsters.
Mary Hopkins, general manager at The West Mid Showground, said: “We are very excited about this year’s show and now that we have secured some fantastic entertainment and tickets are already on sale we are looking to offer sponsorship opportunities for local businesses.
“For individual show areas to events and services, the show offers a wide range of opportunities to suit all budgets.”
Sponsorship opportunities range in size but all include VIP parking, access to a ringside lounge, complimentary tea and coffee and announcements on the PA system as well as acknowledgement in show day publications.
For £75 smaller businesses can sponsor a class and receive two sponsor badges as well as the other benefits and packages go right up to £2,000 which includes 25 sponsorship badges, a banner in the main ring, a full page advert and a meal for six on show day.
“The show acts as a shop window for agricultural marketing and promotes the ethos of gate to place with specific focus on the origins of food,” added Mary.
“Today, with world population rising, pressure being places on food production and physical working areas lost to development there is an ever increasing need for farming enterprises and agricultural knowledge to be disbursed to the wider community.
“And with the economy struggling across all areas a day of fun and enjoyment for all the family may be just what everyone needs.”
