A Shropshire businesswoman today revealed she would be expanding her company across the county in the hope of creating dozens of jobs.

Shropshire businesswoman to create jobs with company expansion

Kelly Ward said Mrs Mopp Cleaning Services had become such a success in Telford she had been forced to expand her services to other areas.

She said she would be firstly launching her company in Shrewsbury next month with an employment fair for prospective workers to apply for jobs.

She urged people looking to start a career in domestic cleaning to apply at a special event at Shrewsbury Job Centre on March 1 from 10am to 2pm.

She said once the Shrewsbury branch was established and all of the positions were filled she would be looking at other towns across the county.

Mrs Ward, who set up the firm in 2008 when she did all of her client’s cleaning and ironing herself, said she hoped to provide dozens of people with jobs - also giving them the chance to take their first step on a promotional ladder which could see them becoming a supervisor or manager.

She said staff were currently preparing to start NVQ courses so they had qualifications to show for their work.

The mother-of-four - who prides herself on providing a first class service at an affordable price – said through word of mouth people had started to enquire if she covered other areas of the county.

Mrs Ward said she had not expanded outside of Telford in the last three years because she wanted to ensure her existing clients were getting the best possible service first.

“This is a very exciting development for me and all at Mrs Mopp. I am now recruiting the best candidates to represent my company in the Shrewsbury area and have already got a number of clients waiting for their cleaner to be assigned to them.

“Being able to create jobs for people who otherwise may be unemployed is great but it’s about more than that for me – it’s about starting a career for them.

“I started on my own and now have a team of moppettes who love their work and take great pride in cleaning people’s homes,” she said.

The 32-year-old businesswoman said “high quality service and customer service” was still at the core of her business.

“The success of my business is down to the dedication and pride of my workers – they are proud of their job and I am proud of them and that goes a long way in business.

“It has resulted in many of my clients being with me since the launch of my company three years ago,” Mrs Ward said.

Anybody interested in applying for any of the cleaning jobs in Shrewsbury should turn out at the Shrewsbury Job Centre on March 1 from 10am to 2pm or call Mrs Mopp on (01952) 250236.

There are also cleaning and ironing vacancies in the Telford area. For information visit www.mrsmopp.com.
