Morris Care carries out self regulation
Morris Care employee Pamela Tonks is celebrating success after receiving an award for outstanding results in a recent ‘secret shopper’ audit instigated by the Shropshire-based care home group.

Pamela, a senior administrator at Stretton Hall Nursing Home, Church Stretton, was selected from employees across Morris Care’s six nursing homes to receive the award.
The award comes after Morris Care commissioned a professional ‘secret shopper’ to enter its care homes and monitor and assess how Nurse Managers and administrative staff dealt with visitors, potential residents and their families.
Upon employment at a Morris Care home, all staff are given extensive training on how to ensure the very best levels of hospitality for visitors, which includes assuaging any concerns that a potential resident or their family may have, or offering financial advice.
The recent self-monitoring exercise was taken out to ensure that all Nurse Managers and auxiliary members of staff were utilising their training, and treating potential residents and their families with the necessary levels of courtesy, empathy and understanding expected by Morris Care.
Following extensive research, the secret shopper reported excellent results for all Morris Care homes and their staff, and singled out Stretton Hall’s Pamela Tonks for her dedication, commitment, courtesy and attention to detail.
Margaret Maudsley, Chief Executive of Morris Care, said: “We were already confident that our existing residents, and their families, receive the highest quality care and attention during their time with us.
“The purpose of this exercise was to ensure that everybody who visits a Morris Care home receives the correct information and advice, and as much support as possible during what can be a difficult time for all involved. We would like to offer our congratulations to Pamela, who went above and beyond our expectations, and is a shining example of Morris Care staff to delivering the highest quality care.”
