Shrewsbury entrepreneur launches new estate agent alternative
Marketing your property privately instead of using an estate agent has never been considered an effective option until now.

Young Shrewsbury based entrepreneur James Allen has launched a new online property marketing company that could revolutionise the way we sell and let our homes in the future. ‘Propstop.co.uk’ is a market leading website that allows private vendors and landlords to advertise their properties themselves, from as little as £65.
Having worked for conventional estate agents in the past, James has established that with the increased use of the internet, there is now an opportunity to provide people with the tools to market property themselves online.
“I had noticed an ever increasing number of people who were trying to sell or let their properties privately, by either making their own signs, newspaper advertising or through social networks. I also found out first hand that there wasn’t a platform that combined all the necessary tools for people to successfully market their property themselves, so I created Propstop.”said James.
The first property to be loaded on to Propstop by a private individual went on the market in Oakfield Road, Shrewsbury, an offer was received within 48 hours and the sale has now completed, saving the vendor around £3,100 in agency fees.
James realises that there is still a place in market for estate agents though:
“Some people will still prefer to use an agent, this is why we have a network of associated estate agents across the country who also advertise their properties with us, what we are doing is presenting people with an alternative route when they sell or let their property”.
Propstop now has properties all over the country, the website can be viewed by visiting www.propstop.co.uk, you can also contact them on 01743 340785 or e-mail James at james.allen@propstop.co.uk.
