The Giant Party Shop voted Most Loved Business in Shrewsbury
A national campaign to find Britain’s ‘most loved’ local businesses has discovered that The Giant Party Shop is not only the most loved business in Shrewsbury but the most loved fancy dress shop in the whole of the UK.
Thousands of local people from all over the country put forward their nominations for their favourite local company as part of a national campaign run by local business champions thebestof Shrewsbury.
The 14 Days of Love campaign this February, aimed to raise awareness about the continuous plight faced by local independent businesses and prove that local communities can make a difference to a town’s economy and pride. Support for independent businesses is essential for the British high street, which saw an increase of 0.9% in January retail sales. More than 70,000 people wrote reviews of their favourite businesses during the campaign.
Amongst the most loved businesses in Shrewsbury are:
• The Inn at Grinshill – which was also the most loved fine dining restaurant in the country
• In Good Hands Massage – which was the second most loved massage business in the UK
• Mango Valeting –also the third most loved valeting business in the UK
• Casa Naranjo – second most loved Spanish restaurant in the UK with its sister company Casa Ruiz in Bridgnorth being the most loved in the country.
Andy Rao of thebestof Shrewsbury said: “It’s really encouraging to see such a huge number of people voting in the 14 Days of Love campaign. It just goes to show how much our communities are supporting their local independent businesses – of which there are dozens in Shrewsbury. It’s great news for the British high street especially during difficult economic times.
“Small businesses are the engine room of our economy and lots of local business owners – and their loyal staff – are feeling great because their efforts have been recognised and appreciated by so many of their customers.”
