Shropshire internet marketing specialist to hold Wordpress course

A Shifnal-based Internet Marketing Agency has launched a series of hands-on, 1 day courses delivered in-house to small business owners.

Shropshire internet marketing specialist to hold Wordpress course

The first course in the series is designed to empower businesses on a budget to develop their own professional website using the popular Wordpress application – right there and then.

Wordpress is well known as one of the most popular content management and blog publishing applications available today. Where many businesses may have been put off by the perceived difficulty in developing your own website and making it look professional, Wordpress has made self-publishing more accessible.

Helen Culshaw, Director of Ascendancy Internet Marketing, says: “The course is equally valuable to people who already have a Wordpress site which was developed for them. Many of these people know how to upload content such as text, pictures and blog posts, but would like to know more about the more technical features that will allow them to get the most from it, such as widgets, themes and search engine optimisation. We will take attendees back to basics and go through all of the tools and give them the know-how to take control and make a success of their website or blog.”

She continues: “Our previous courses in SEO and Google AdWords have been very popular due to the hands-on nature of how we work. People actually work on their own site there and then so it’s not just theory. That seems to really work for them so our Wordpress in a Day course is structured in the same way”

The course will take place at the premises of Ascendancy Internet Marketing and will be delivered by their experienced in-house Web Designer, Alex Culshaw. The format includes setting up your own site, designing the look, adding text and images and choosing and installing a series of useful plug-ins, which add various features from newsletter sign-ups to integrating your social media accounts. Attendees will come away with the knowledge and confidence to continue to manage their own site, as well as a year’s free hosting for your new site, a voucher for free Google AdWords promotion and other benefits to the value of over £225.

The course will take place on Wednesday 28th March 2012 and costs £175 + VAT per person including lunch and refreshments. There is also an incentive of a 10% discount if attendees bring a friend or book onto more than one course.
