Shropshire business consultant drives Middle East manufacturing expansion plans
A Shropshire business improvement consultant has set off for Saudi Arabia to advise on expansion plans for the manufacturing arm of a unique ducting company which has just made operational the first of a number of proposed factories in the Middle East.

Mark Harris, managing director of Shrewsbury based The Business Company, was appointed last year to help develop and implement an effective business model that would support Ductwork Solutions (ME) and help achieve its goal of creating a strategy for a worldwide operation.
With one factory in Saudi Arabia and plans to launch throughout the Middle East, the company’s aspiration is to become leaders in pre-insulated, advanced ducting technology.
Speaking before leaving for the Middle East Mr Harris said: “The advent of pre-insulated ducting has dramatic implications for the global ducting industry and Ductwork Solutions (ME) is a revolutionary business that is unique in the sector due to its ability to offer a total pre-insulated ducting solution.
“Utilising its sister company, DuctFlow, as its manufacturing arm Ductwork Solutions offers a full client service role, from computer generated plans right through to installation and all other associated elements. Part of the vision for the company is to build a network of DuctFlow manufacturing facilities throughout the whole of the
Middle East that will operate under franchise or licence with standardised systems and processes.
“The Business Company was engaged to define the wider vision, incorporating a clear strategy and goals within a structured business plan and providing support for business planning, sales and marketing development and raising finance. Ultimately our involvement will include developing a UK head office business infrastructure, recruiting the right team, identifying franchise and supplier partners and developing and launching a worldwide franchise or licence strategy.
“Ductwork Solutions is an innovative, emerging business with massive potential. This is an exciting project for everyone involved and when I return to the UK I will be seeking to acquire a UK based machinery manufacturer on behalf of the company, to provide machines for the Middle East market”.
