Statement from the Marches LEP on today's budget speech
The Chancellor today highlighted the success of the UK's 24 Enterprise Zones, singling out the Marches LEP's site in his Budget speech.

Mr Osborne named the zones in Liverpool and the Marches as examples of sites already making progress.
Dr Geoffrey Davies OBE, chairman of the Marches LEP, said: “As the Chancellor said today in his Budget speech, our Enterprise Zone in Hereford is already expanding. But the benefits of having zone status will not stop with Hereford, but will extend across the LEP area in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, particulary with regard to potential supply chain opportunities.
“I also welcome moves to tax small firms on the amount of cash passing through their businesses rather than more complicated methods used for large companies but we will have to see whether this measure really does cut down on red tape for SMEs, which make up more than 90 per cent of the business landscape in the Marches.”
