A Shropshire-based chemicals company has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise and will be officially presented with the accolade later in the year, with a special reception at Buckingham Palace scheduled for the Autumn.

Queen’s award honour for Shropshire company

Pathway Intermediates, whose head office is at Atcham in Shrewsbury, was selected for the honour in the International Trade category after achieving an impressive 314% growth in export sales in the last three years. The firm manufactures a wide range of high quality additives, predominantly for the animal health industry including premix and feed companies, and with an emphasis on natural products.

David Garnett, co-founder and Director of Pathway Intermediates, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been selected for such a prestigious award and it is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in helping us to achieve this worldwide recognition.”

“We’ve had huge commercial success since launching eleven years ago, largely due to the development and growth of our worldwide network of distributors, in particular our joint-venture partner in South Korea which has enabled us to supply our products to a diverse range of market sectors across the Far East, South Asia and the rest of the globe.

“We also have a very active research and development division which is constantly looking to expand and diversify the business and our offer, and to introduce new products to meet the ever-changing demands of both our clients and suppliers. We’re proud to be accepting this award on behalf of everyone involved in the business and are very much looking forward to the official reception at the Palace!”
