Three gain promotion at Shropshire cleaning company Mrs Mopp
Three members of staff at a Shropshire cleaning company are celebrating after winning promotion to launch their new careers.

Lisa Hall, Cheryl Phipps and Sarah Branningan were all cleaners with Mrs Mopp Cleaning Services until company owner Kelly Ward decided to restructure the company and open up the opportunities to the “moppettes” as a chance to climb up a career ladder within the services industry.
The move came after Telford branch manager, Genette Buckley left the company to have a baby and spend more time with her family last month.
Mrs Ward, who set up the company in 2008, said the vacancy made her realise she could give more than one person the chance to develop themselves further and, after interviews, selected three of her “moppettes” who were keen to gain qualifications and take on the new roles.
The three new roles include sales and customer services, office administration and supervisor/quality control.
“Very often people just need to be given the opportunity to make a change for themselves and develop a career path. Many of my current staff have never had that opportunity and see themselves as people who have a ‘job’ not a career.
“I want to show them that they can achieve more for themselves and to be the best that they can be. There is no such thing as can’t at Mrs Mopp.
“By creating these three positions I hope other members of staff will see what they could achieve through dedication and hard work as there will be the same chances in my recently launched Shrewsbury branch,” the 33-year-old businesswoman said.
“The three women will all be trained with bespoke training that I have written for all departments and will be going to college to gain qualifications to support the first-hand experience they will be gaining with my guidance.
“This is a very exciting development for the company and gives the business structure a whole new dimension for the first time since I launched the company three years ago.”
Mrs Ward said she the new processes would improve the service for her clients as they would have a personal contact for their area of business.
“Rather than one person taking all of the responsibility for all of the enquiries for the various services we offer, this development, of both new staff in the offices and the new procedures that are now in place, means several people will be available but will have their expert area so the running of the business will be better than ever before, whilst also giving three enthusiastic women the chance to improve their career prospects,” Mrs Ward added.
