Shropshire company wins charging points contract at hospital
Patients and visitors to a Shropshire hospital will be able to plug-in their electric and hybrid vehicles thanks to a county company which has clinched a contract to provide charging points.

Charging Solutions, near Shrewsbury, has signed an agreement which will see its innovative Charging Points installed at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in Oswestry.
The deal is part of a £4.6 million sustainable redevelopment at the site, including the revamp and relocation of the patient car park and hospital main entrance.
The green redevelopment, project managed by Capita Symonds in conjunction with the RJAH Estates Department, will see solar-powered pay and display machines installed as well as Charging Solutions' Charging Points.
Managing director of Charging Solutions, James Jean-Louis, said: “Sustainability is an integral part of the development with the hospital keen to promote environmentally-friendly options for its visitors and patients.
“We are delighted to provide our ground pole mounted Charging Points for the increasing number of patients and hospital visitors with pure electic and plug-in vehicles, who will now be able to charge their vehicles while they are parked at the hospital during appointments or while visiting.”
The Charging Points will be installed by May 14, ahead of the official opening of the redevelopment on May 22 by Olympic Showjumper, Tim Stockdale, who is returning to the hospital where he was treated for spinal injuries six months ago.
Charging Solutions supplies a complete range of EV charging points and accessories which include wall or ground pole mounting and flexible access options, from simple push button activation to its GSM/GPRS based management and payment system.
RJAH Deputy Director of Estates, Trevor Chadd, added: “We are pleased that local provider Charging Solutions has won the contract to provide this innovative and sustainable solution. We have worked closely with local businesses to bring this development to a successful conclusion.”
