Expert advice, guidance and support is on offer for Newport businesses next week for the first event of its kind to be held in the town.

Entrepreneurs, sole traders and established companies are being invited to the free to attend Business Road Show on Monday 21 May, which has been organised by the Newport Chamber of Commerce.

Companies exhibiting at the road show, from a broad range of sectors from marketing and IT to accountancy and professional services, will be on hand to give advice and guidance to visitors.

Alison Hayward, of Newport Chamber of Commerce, said: “ We are delighted to be hosting the first ever Business Road Show in Newport, demonstrating our support of enterprises which chose to trade and grow their businesses in our market town and its surrounds.

“Market towns are vital to the economy of our region, and there is a wealth of business expertise in Newport area. Around 20 exhibitors are signed up so far, to provide support on issues including business finance and insurance, marketing and public relations, energy efficiency and IT communications support.

“Visitors will also be able to find out about sourcing items from till rolls to carrier bags, the benefits of e-commerce websites as well as how social media platforms, such as Linked In, Twitter and Facebook, can boost the bottom line of their business.”

The event will be held on Monday, May 21, at the Royal Victoria Hotel, St Mary's Street, from 5.30pm – 7.00pm.
