Therapists invited for pampering at charity day

Complimentary therapists from across Shropshire plan to raise hundreds of pounds for charity when they pamper themselves at a special “energy exchange”.

Therapists invited for pampering at charity day

The Big Energy Exchange, the first to be held in the county, has been organised by Caroline Rolling to give therapists the chance to try out other people’s methods and techniques.

Mrs Rolling, an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting trainer and practitioner, will host the event at Haughton Hall in Shifnal on May 27 from 11am to 3.30pm.

All profits made on the day will go to the Healing Hands Network which helps people in Bosnia and the UK suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after war and disaster.

Mrs Rolling has travelled to Bosnia with the charity where she used EFT to treat people with post-traumatic stress disorder before training them to use the technique with others.

EFT involves sufferers tapping gently on specific acupressure points with the fingertips while focussing on an issue or problem.

While Matrix Reimprinting uses “techniques to change your relationship with your past and dramatically transform your physical and emotional health in the present”.

The former ME sufferer said it was a chance for people who treated others to make their lives easier to take some time out for themselves.

“Complementary therapists are caring people who do their job because they want to help others but are so busy looking after everyone else they sometimes forget to take care of themselves,” she said.

The 53-year-old from Shifnal said she already hosted events for other EFT practitioners to swap sessions with each other but complimentary therapists often worked alone without the support of like-minded people.

“The Big Energy Exchange is a place where they can take time out for themselves, exchange treatments, meet like-minded people and share experiences in a relaxed and lovely environment.

“It is hopefully going to be like a day of pampering whilst we also learn about what each other does,” Mrs Rolling said.

“They will be able to take time out for themselves and really concentrate on their own well-being while enjoying various holistic therapy treatments.

“Everyone will also make new friends in their joint community and industry and enjoy a healthy buffet lunch.”
