Shrewsbury businesses join forces for ‘Great British Celebration’
Neighbouring Shrewsbury businesses are joining forces for a ‘Great British Celebration’ to mark two major UK events.

Award-winning boutique Wysteria Lane and Cromwells restaurant and bar, both situated in Dogpole, are holding a week of special promotions to commemorate the arrival of the Olympic Torch in town on May 30 and the Diamond Jubilee.
Michelle Jamie, owner of Wysteria Lane, said that the festivities would start when the torch passed by and would continue for seven days.
“We think it is wonderful to have two such momentous occasions so close to each other so decided to link up with our neighbours Cromwells to mark them in fitting style.
“Both premises will be decorated in red, white and blue, with bunting and flags, and customers of both businesses will be able to enjoy drinks and nibbles, promotions and offers for the whole week.
“We think that Dogpole will have the best view in town of the Olympic party so hopefully the street will be packed with cheering crowds and we are very excited about the Queen’s diamond jubilee – it makes us proud to be British!” she said.
Alexis Hill, assistant manager of Cronwells, said that their special events would include parties with live music and traditional British food such as fish and chips and drinks including Pimms.
