Shropshire law firm MFG Solicitors LLP has strengthened its commercial division with the appointment of new partner Sarah Astbury.

New partner for Shropshire law firm’s commercial team

Sarah joins MFG after spending 11 years at Worcestershire firm Thursfields where she carved an admired, high-profile reputation as a commercial lawyer – specialising in providing commercial and property advice to the leisure, hotel and restaurant sectors.

Commenting on her appointment, Sarah said: “Over recent years MFG has made a significant impact across the region and built a first-class reputation in a number of specialist areas.

“Everything about MFG is impressive and the firm’s profile continues to grow. That reputation is well deserved so it’s an exciting time to be part of the firm’s commercial team.”

Sarah added: “I am looking forward to adding my legal experience to such a solid, professional firm and importantly, playing a role in introducing new clients, different specialisms and promoting what I believe is one of the region’s most progressive law firms.”

Maynard Burton, partner and chairman at MFG Solicitors added: “Sarah is a widely-respected lawyer with an outstanding track record.

“Crucially, she brings a wealth of commercial expertise within some very niche sectors to the firm. That experience will enable us to provide and promote a broader range of specialist services for clients.

“She is a first-rate appointment and with her ambition and talent, I am certain Sarah will be a terrific asset as we continue to develop the commercial side of the firm.”

Her appointment into MFG’s commercial and corporate team closely follows that of experienced corporate specialist James Hayes who joined as partner in December 2011.
