Ludlow Food Festival scoops honours at business awards
Ludlow Food Festival has been named the winner of the ‘Promoting Shropshire’ Category at the Shropshire Business Awards, which took place on Friday night at The Telford International Centre.

Beth Heath, Operations Director for the Food Festival said: “We are thrilled to have won the award. It’s a testament to all the hard work put in by everyone involved in the festival including our loyal band of volunteers. The festival was originally set up to promote Ludlow and the Marches and that’s never changed, so it’s really rewarding to be recognised for that.”
The food festival, which began in 1995 and turns 18 this year scooped the prize having beaten off stiff competition from three other finalists. The award was assessed on five criteria including innovative marketing and pr, customer service and the benefits the event brings to Shropshire.
From an initial 500 visitors in 1995, the festival now attracts over 20,000 people to its main event in September, many booking over a year in advance in local accommodation and travelling from across the globe. The festival also runs two other events; the Spring Festival in May and the Magnalonga walk in August.
