National award for new Shrewsbury hotel
A Shropshire hotel is celebrating a major guest satisfaction award after only being in business for less than a year.

The Silverton Hotel in Shrewsbury, which opened only 11 months ago at the old dairy site in Frankwell, has been awarded four and a half stars out of a possible five by Tripadvisor, the survey website based on customer reviews, opinions and levels of guest satisfaction.
Hotel director Doug Blackmore said: “The current economic climate was not the best time to launch a new business, but after a slow start we have built on strong foundations to provide a hotel which now represents Shropshire and showcases the county and its attractions at their very best.
“Having been born and bred in Shrewsbury I know what a beautiful place it is, so we endeavour to promote a more personal experience to highlight the town and its many attractions, both to business guests and tourists from across the country.
“This award highlights the fact that our facilities, atmosphere, dedicated service and locally sourced produce are what discerning guests are looking for and we are delighted to have received this highly respected national accolade in such a short period of time.”
