Author rides into Shrewsbury Market Hall
A Shropshire author will be rolling into Shrewsbury Market Hall to mark the launch of his latest book.

Dave Hancock will be signing copies of Cycle Rides in Shropshire at Urban Bikes UK on July 6, from 12.30pm until 4pm.
The book follows the sell-out success of the first edition of Cycle Rides in Shropshire and includes extra routes, bringing the total up to 22. The rides are of different lengths, with some being suitable for gentle family cycling and others geared to more enthusiastic cyclists. Each ride is described in detail with a map and easy-to-follow route directions. Highlights of the rides include: the miniature Lakeland of meres and mosses around Ellesmere; hillforts from the Iron Age; Offa’s Dyke, the longest archaeological monument in Britain; Whittington, and its castle, now owned and run by the village; Bishop’s Castle with its Real Ale trail, and much more! The book is being published by Sigma Leisure.
The launch event is being supported by Pengwern Books and Urban Bikes UK, both of which are located within the Market Hall.
Pengwern Books, Shrewsbury run by Susan Caroline, is the town’s only independent bookshop and stocks a diverse range of new titles not necessarily in the mainstream, as well as offering a first class ordering service.
Urban Bikes UK, owned by Phil Roe, offers a wide range of top quality bikes for city, road and off-road use as well as accessories, parts and tools.
Susan said “I hosted the launch of the first edition of this book, back in 2006, and the release of this edition comes at a time when more and more people are getting back on their bikes – me included! And it’s a pleasure to be working with Phil Roe of Urban Bikes UK on this event. Everyone is invited to join us for light refreshments to celebrate the long-awaited publication of this book.”
