Wet weather helps business grow for Shropshire businesswoman
One of the wettest summers on record so far is not dampening the spirits of one Shropshire businesswoman.

National statistics show that manufacture and sales of umbrellas has risen by up to 500% throughout the UK due to the heavy rainfall in recent months.
Kathryn Holloway of Promofix in Bridgnorth, which supplies a wide range of commercial and promotional items, has reported a massive increase in the demand for brollies by companies looking to promote their names.
To top it off, Kathryn has now come up with a special ‘rectangular’ shaped brolly for a specialist company in Shifnal that manufactures tricycles for disabled people.
Kathryn said: “Quest 88 are a very successful company who have won awards for their innovative designs and they needed some brollies to shelter under while giving demonstrations to people at shows and events.
“They have splashed out on the unusual new umbrellas which are more oval shaped, rather than the usual round shape, so that two people can easily fit underneath and of course they proudly sport the company logo.
“Although it’s a shame that the weather has been so poor this summer with all the rain that we have been having, one advantage is the rocketing sales of umbrellas, so I say ….let it pour!
Robert Henshaw, joint managing director of Quest 88, added: “We work with a lot of people with physical disabilities so proving shelter for them is essential in wet weather and we are delighted with this unusual yet very practical product that Promofix has come up with.”
