Bridgnorth student enjoys work placement at Promofix
An enterprising student from Bridgnorth Endowed School has spent a week working with local entrepreneur Kathryn Holloway and her company Promofix, which specialises in supplying unusual promotional items to help publicise businesses.

Like many students, Aveni Johnson, aged 15, wanted to find a work experience placement for the summer term and used her initiative to contact Bridgnorth-based Promofix in the search of some experience in the marketing industry.
During her time with the company Aveni has learnt new practical skills for the future and worked on various client projects, the highlight of which was visiting the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant, held at RAF Cosford, to see some of the companies that Promofix had created merchandise for and see their products in action.
Aveni said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for me to recognise what I possibly want to do in the future and has inspired me to aim high!
“Before I started this week I was unsure of what I wanted to do when I leave school, but working with Kathryn has really helped me decide and also what I need to do to achieve this.
“I now see the prospect of marketing and promotion as something for my future career.”
Kathryn commented: “It is really important to give young people the opportunity of work experience so that they get a chance to develop self-confidence and communication skills. This will help them to work better with other people in higher education, and in their future careers.
"By working in a real company young people gain vital skills they will need to help get a job and I believe that Aveni will now shine in front of any potential employer.”
