Shropshire legal firm gives boost to charities
A Shropshire legal firm has given a big boost to two charities by sponsoring an 850-mile cycle challenge tackled by a group of people from the county.

Wace Morgan Solicitors, which has three offices in Shrewsbury, has donated £500 to their appeal – and presented the cheque as the riders they passed through the town on the way from John O’Groats to Lands End.
The five cyclists are raising money for Cancer Research and for a new scholarship launched in memory of former Shrewsbury School pupil Alex Wilson who died in a tragic accident three years ago, aged just 19.
The award was set up by the family and friends of Alex, formerly of Alberbury, and aims to give a local boy the chance to benefit from the outstanding educational and sporting facilities at Shrewsbury School’s sixth form.
His brother Henry and five others are cycling the length of the country in one week as one of the many activities organised to collect funds for both causes.
Henry commented: “We are very grateful to Wace Morgan for their sponsorship – it has given us a real boost and it was great to ride into the town as part of our marathon ride to collect the cheque.”
Wace Morgan business manager Carolyn Freeman said that the firm always did as much as possible to support worthy charities.
“We were pleased to be able to support the cyclists’ fantastic efforts in aid of Cancer Research and the scholarship fund and were proud to be the group’s main local sponsors.”
This Alex Wilson scholarship goes live in September 2013 and will be offered to a 'Shropshire lad' who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the school fees at Shrewsbury School.
