Telford & Wrekin Council in major push to attract automotive suppliers

Only 13 miles away at the i54 site off junction two of the M54, Jaguar Land Rover is delivering a new facility to build low emission engines.

Telford & Wrekin Council has already announced it is planning some major steps to help combat the difficult economic climate and make it easier for investment to be achieved.

As part of this, the council is writing to several thousand businesses in the automotive sector to highlight the benefits of relocating to Telford.

Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet member for Housing, Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council is committed to attracting inward investment into the borough as well as supporting our existing businesses.

“We offer a complete package for forward investors, small and medium enterprises and business start ups that we feel is unique in the region.

“Our offer combines a wealth of serviced land, high quality housing and innovative new design. We also have a fantastic road infrastructure with good connections to the automotive industry across the UK.

“We have a can do attitude here in Telford and Wrekin to support existing business and to help new investors relocate or start up their businesses.

“The i54 development represents a fantastic opportunity for Telford and Wrekin and for investors as we have some of the best value development land in the country.”
