The TTC Group’s youngest member of its management team has won an award for his contribution to the Telford business community.

Runner up award for TTC Group's young manager

IT & Quality Manager David Finney, 31, was named runner up as the 2012 Telford Young Professional and received the award at the quarterly breakfast meeting of Telford Business Partnership.

“It was amazing to be on the shortlist and then to win the runner-up spot was fantastic,” said David, who has worked at the TTC Group since he left school. David was nominated by TTC for his contributions to the ongoing success and development of the business and for securing certification for five ISO accreditations.

Telford Business Partnership outgoing chairman, Graham Davies, of Martin-Kaye LLP Solicitors, said “We’re very proud of the young professionals in Telford and Shropshire and their success shows there is a strong future for business in the local area.”

The Telford Young Professional award is open to anyone aged between 18 and 35 who is either an employee of a local company or self-employed in the Telford area.

It covers a wide range of criteria including the young person’s current role, personal and professional qualifications and development, interests outside work, charity commitments, and asks for nominees to identify any achievements over the last year and the difference they had made to the company they worked for.

Telford Business Partnership established the Telford Young Professionals organisation in 2006 to represent employees and business owners under 35 years old in Telford and Shropshire.
