Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special event later this month dedicated to the successes of local business women.

The Chamber’s Network of Women, which was launched six years ago, will be hosting an event to encourage female entrepreneurs from all sectors to meet and learn more about the successful businesses that exist in Shropshire. The function, which will take place between 11am and 2pm on Tuesday 21st August at Ellesmere College, will also welcome inspirational speakers from around the county to talk about their business accomplishments, including Sylvia Parkin of SaBRE (Support for Britain’s Reservists and Employers) and Kelly Mansell of ABC HR.

Sylvia Parkin, who experienced active service and has spoken at previous events about her involvement in the Armed Services, will provide an overview of the role that employer and employees can play. Human resources consultant, Kelly Mansell, will focus on employee/ employer relations particularly in relation to the participation in voluntary duties. The event will finish with a buffet lunch, giving everyone a chance to network.

Teresa Rowe, Events Manager at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce said: “Our previous Network of Women events have proved to be a huge success and I’d urge any women interested in setting up a business or wishing to expand their current client portfolio to attend the occasion, with two fantastic speakers lined up, it is well worth coming along.”

“The event is open to both Chamber Members and non-members, so to reserve a space, get in touch on 01952 208200 or email enquiries@shropshire-chamber.co.uk.”
