A Shrewsbury-based same day courier company has had the latest real-time tracking and alert systems fitted in its fleet of delivery vans.

Shrewsbury Courier firm install tracking devices for ultimate customer care

Dex’s Midnight Runners (DMR) has joined forces with fellow Shrewsbury-based firm Don’t Dream It Drive It to install the bespoke monitoring software in its fleet of refrigerated vans. The system provides a tracking and monitoring system that goes the extra mile, ensuring a reliable and efficient service to DMR’s wide range of clients, including chilled food suppliers, utility firms and environmental sampling companies.

The Don’t Dream It Drive It customised courier software tracks key details such as vehicle location and performance, and vehicle temperature in real-time, automatically relaying temperature checks to DMR headquarters every 15 minutes. It allows each job to be evaluated instantly against key parameters, and also enables DMR to keep customers completely informed with their delivery’s progress.

Derek Bennion, Director of DMR, commented: “The Don’t Dream It Drive It tracking system ensures we can provide even more accurate updates to our customers, and is a great addition for temperature sensitive deliveries such as environmental water samples and other sensitive cargo. It allows us to produce a report detailing the temperature of goods whilst in transit, giving our clients a fully audited trail to ensure peace of mind.”

Stephanie White, Director of Don’t Dream It Drive It, said: “DMR is a courier service with a difference, and the GPS fleet tracking system is a great way to provide an efficient service on top of the great work they already do.”

The use of bespoke GPS tracking technology is just the latest way DMR has gone way beyond delivering ‘normal’ courier services. The firm has recently received the ISO9001 certification, an internationally-recognised quality accreditation obtained after it successfully completed a series of rigorous assessments and external audits regarding their policies and procedures. In June, the company was also shortlisted in the Outstanding Customer Service category at the prestigious Shropshire Business Awards.

Established in 2004, DMR is a specialist same day courier company working with clients across Shropshire and the UK.

Operating a fleet of both ambient and refrigerated vehicles, all fitted with state-of-the-art tracking systems to precisely monitor progress in real-time, DMR provides delivery and collection services to suit all sizes and types of shipment, and handles specialist needs such as medical, awkward loads, chilled product handling, and confidential material solutions, promptly and professionally through a personalised approach tailored to each client.
