A Shropshire care advisory team is determined to raise the profile of the care industry across the county and help the hundreds of people in need of its services.

Charlotte Quinton and Andrea Jones, of Independent Care Solutions, based in Shrewsbury, will this month launch an online advice clinic to get information about care across to families in Shropshire and beyond.

The #carehour will go live on Twitter on August 30 from 2.30pm to 3.30pm and people across the country will be able to ask advice or find out more about what is available by contacting @UKCareAdvice and using the hashtag.

Andrea said: “We know there are thousands of people out there who have questions and are not sure how to get the answers and we want to provide somewhere for them to find out more.

“Since joining Twitter we have helped a lot of people with unanswered questions but we feel a dedicated hour where people can contact us and use the hashtag to spread the word will reach a lot more people in need.”

For those not online, or who would like a face to face discussion, Independent Care Solutions also offer free advice clinics at their offices in Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury. The next sessions will be held on August 29 from 10.30am to 3pm and September 19 at the same time. The 40-minute appointments should be booked in advance on info@uk-ics.com or (01743) 724990.

“We are hosting the clinics to help people who are interested in the types of care available in Shropshire and beyond or are looking for advice on the best way to proceed in helping relatives or themselves,” added Andrea.

"Those concerned about an elderly or disabled relative and whether the care they receive is adequate can also come along to the advice clinic to discuss their worries.”

Independent Care Solutions is the first registered and independent Care Advisory and Support brokerage service in Shropshire.
