One of Shrewsbury’s best-loved businesses is celebrating a decade of trading in the town.

Wysteria Lane celebrates decade of trading in Shrewsbury

Michelle Jamie opened her Wysteria Lane boutique in Dogpole six years ago this month and her second shop in Grope Lane four years ago.

“We have just completed a very successful ten years in town in total and want to celebrate the milestone,” said Michelle, whose shops have gone on to win several awards as excellent independent retailers.

“Shrewsbury is a fabulous place with some unique retailers who help to make it one of the best shopping towns in the country. It is pleasing to see that new stores and businesses are continuing to open and we are delighted to be playing a part in its growth.”

To mark the decade of trade her two shops are offering a discount to customers during September.

Wysteria Lane sells a range of clothes, jewellery, furnishings and accessories and two years ago it was approached by Birmingham City Council to launch a third store in the city centre.

Despite a decline in some High Street retail activity, Michelle puts her success down to a high level of personal service and competitive prices.

“It was my dream to open a shop and I did so with just my mum to help but now I have a wonderful staff of 14. I am passionate about retailing and so are my team - we are all creative, enthusiastic people who have one aim - to give the best possible service, and this is what we do. We are all looking forward to celebrating with the people of Shrewsbury,” she commented.
