Shropshire legal firm celebrates qualification success
A local firm of solicitors is celebrating after seeing one of its paralegals become a fully qualified solicitor.
Shropshire-based PCB Solicitors has offered Layla Blackmore a position within the family law team after she successfully completed her 18-month legal training contract. Layla joined the firm as a paralegal in November 2009, after completing a degree at Aberystwyth University and subsequently undertaking a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Chester College of Law.
During her training, Layla worked primarily in the company’s family department, having responsibility for a range of duties including preparing documentation, representing clients in court, and shadowing Counsel within the court arena, alongside her academic studies.
Layla commented: “I am delighted to have passed my qualification and to be now working as a fully-fledged solicitor at such a fantastic firm. Family law is my passion and I am very much looking forward to continuing to build relationships with individuals and partnering agencies across the region.”
Edmund Coxhead, Partner at PCB Solicitors, said: “I’d like to offer my warmest congratulations to Layla on becoming a qualified solicitor. It has been wonderful to see Layla progress through her training, and we’re delighted to be offering her a permanent role with us and know she’ll be a great asset to the team here.”
Layla is based in the Shrewsbury office, but will also work across the firm’s South Shropshire offices in Craven Arms, Ludlow and Church Stretton, and will specialise in domestic violence injunctions, contact, public child law, and residence disputes relating to children, and divorce.
