One of the Midlands’ most well-established estate agents has appointed a new Managing Director following the recent retirement of a hugely respected property professional.

Shropshire property firm safe as houses with new MD appointment

Graham Taylor has been promoted to his new role as head of Shropshire-based Nock Deighton, which has offices in Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Telford, and Ironbridge, following the retirement of Michael Evans, who had held the position since September 2008. Michael will continue to provide consultancy services to the firm on an ongoing basis.

A hugely experienced property and finance professional, Graham has worked at Nock Deighton for the past 18 years, and takes up his new post following a successful spell as Finance & HR Director and Company Secretary. As well as being a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), he is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

“It is a great honour to take up this new position, as even though the housing market in general has faced huge challenges over the past few years, Shropshire has very much remained a much sought-after location with both buyers and sellers,” Graham Taylor commented. “Michael certainly leaves some pretty big shoes for me to fill, and we are delighted that his local knowledge and wealth of experience will continue to be a huge asset to our company in his new role as consultant. I and everyone at Nock Deighton would like to thank him for his outstanding efforts, and wish him a very well-deserved retirement.”

With a hugely successful career in estate agency dating back more than 50 years, the last 25 of which was focused in the Ludlow and South Shropshire area, Michael Evans originally joined Nock Deighton in 1989 as Manager of its Ludlow office. A Fellow of both the National Association of Estate Agents and the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers, Michael held posts at a number of leading estate agents across the West Midlands prior to coming on board at Nock Deighton.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nock Deighton and would like to wish the company every success in the future,” Michael Evans said. “I have been extremely fortunate to work alongside some fantastically talented property professionals at the firm, and wish Graham all the very best in his new role at the helm, while I’m also looking forward to passing on my advice and expertise as a consultant in the months and years to come.”
