£3 million Touring Park gets the Caravan Club’s stamp of approval
The new £3 million Ludlow Touring Park, which officially opened its gates in May, has been accepted as a prestigious affiliated site of The Caravan Club.

There are only 206 caravan parks across the UK that are either owned by or affiliated to the club, which provides high quality services to one million caravan and motor caravan owners.
The Caravan Club has 44 affiliated sites across the UK, which provide members with a greater choice of where to stay. These sites are expected to offer the same high standards as club owned sites, ideally with 60 to100 pitches in an attractive location in a popular area for tourism.
The 135-pitch Ludlow Touring Park, which is owned by Shrewsbury-based Morris Leisure, has been developed to five star standards on a 20-acre site alongside the River Teme and with good road links to the A49 near Richards Castle.
Morris Leisure already owns two affiliated sites of The Caravan Club - Riverside Touring Park, Betws-y-Coed and Stanmore Hall Touring Park, Bridgnorth. In addition, the company owns Oxon Touring Park and Oxon Pool Holiday Home Park in Shrewsbury and Bow House Country Park, near Bishops Castle.
Tony Barnett, Head of Estates at the Caravan Club, said: “The Caravan Club have enjoyed a long association with Morris Leisure who share the same focus on providing top quality facilities for the touring caravanner.
“Morris Leisure’s development of Ludlow Touring Park exceeds even their very high standards in an attractive riverside setting yet close to the town’s amenities. We are therefore delighted that the company approached us to include this excellent touring park in the Caravan Club’s nationwide network of 206 quality sites.”
Edward Goddard, Morris Leisure’s managing director, said he was delighted to receive the news that Ludlow Touring Park had been accepted as an affiliated site, which would help to further enhance its profile.
“We have developed the Ludlow Touring Park to a very high standard in line with all our other parks,” he added. “Becoming an affiliated site is a fantastic reward for all the hard work that everyone has put in to make this new venture a success.
“There can be no better endorsement than being approved by The Caravan Club.”
The new park has proved to be a popular destination for caravanners and motorhome owners this summer, despite the wet weather.
“We believe the park is going to enhance the local tourism offer and generate around £2 million a year for Ludlow and surrounding area, which is great news for the local economy in these challenging times,” added Mr Goddard.
