Shropshire businesses invited to tee off at Expo
The Ryder Cup may be over but one Shropshire company is hoping to continue the golfing celebrations, inviting visitors to a tee off in a competition at a county business exhibition.

ETD Training is tapping into the excitement of the most thrilling Ryder Cup turnaround in history by holding its very own golfing challenge in a bid to highlight its innovative and interactive health and safety training courses.
Visitors to the Shropshire Chamber Expo in Oswestry are invited to get into their swing by taking part in a three-hole Nintendo Wii tournament on October 11.
Head of business development, Bruce Gutteridge, said: “We're well-known for helping employers and their staff comply with health and safety regulations through our interactive and engaging health and safety courses.
“We thought one of the best ways to demonstrate our fun approach was to hold a mini-golf tournament on the Nintendo Wii which we're setting up on a big plasma screen at the Expo event.
“It doesn't matter whether visitors to our stand are golfing novices or have brilliant handicaps, it will be good fun and a chance for competitors driving down the fairway to win licences for our online health and safety courses.”
The Clun-based company is offering the winner with the best score 15 free licences for ETD Training courses worth £225.
“There may well be a bottle of wine on offer for the runner-up, as long as they promise not to drink it before driving or operating machinery – our courses may be fun but they contain very serious messages in them too! We're looking forward to meeting visitors at Expo and wish them the best of luck on the green,” added Mr Gutteridge.
ETD Training's courses, including manual handling, fire safety and Display Screen Equipment, are accredited by the CPD Certification Service and can be completed online. Alternatively large organisations with their own Learning Management System can benefit from all the courses in Scorm format.
