The Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is staging a special day-long event dedicated showcasing the diverse and exciting range of businesses that are active across the county.

The Oswestry Business Expo will be held between 8.30am and 3pm on Thursday 11th October at the Lion Quays Resort, Oswestry, and will provide local businesses with the opportunity to promote their companies, as well as collaborate and network. The event will kick-off with a breakfast networking meeting which will welcome key speaker, John Donnelly, former ‘Midland Entrepreneur of the Year, who as well as successfully starting his own travel company, also enjoyed a professional football career with Aston Villa and Norwich City.

The day will also play host to a number of seminars where attendees can pick up valuable advice and guidance from some of Shropshire’s most successful business owners, including Jan Minihane, of The Net Advantage, Jools Payne, of PR firm The Jools Payne Partnership, and Chris Page, of Page Communication.

Jools Payne will start the day’s demonstrations, hosting a highly interactive discussion about reputation management within a business environment, which will include five top tips to enhance and protect a firm’s corporate identity. Jan Minihane will then explore the concept of social media, and briefly explain the latest trends and some of the ways in which businesses can utilise tools like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook effectively. Chris Page will round off the day’s presentations by hosting an interactive workshop focusing on public speaking, and will provide some helpful tips to enhance business-winning performance.

Teresa Rowe, Events Manager at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our all-day Expos prove to be some of the most popular events in our calendar, and I have no doubt this one will be no exception. We are welcoming a number of inspirational speakers, who will be providing valuable advice to encourage business success, as well as a large number of exhibitors showcasing their businesses.
