Two county companies which sponsor the Shropshire Care Awards have praised the carers recognised for their efforts in this year's shortlist.

Shropshire companies praise carers ahead of awards

Bespoke Computing Ltd, of Telford, and Independent Care Solutions, of Shrewsbury, sponsor the Domiciliary Care and Dementia Care categories of the 2012 awards.

Bespoke Computing managing director Chris Pallett chose to sponsor an award after experiencing carers first hand and Andrea Jones and Charlotte Quinton, of ICS, which provides advice and services for care planning and management, wanted to highlight the work of carers across the region.

Sandra Dyche, of Abbey Care, Lisa Marsh, of Coverage Carer's Care at Home and Marion Hamer, of Allcare Shropshire Ltd, are the shortlisted three in the Carer of the Year Award - Domicialiary Care.

Lorraine Hollins of Lightmore View, Coverage Care Services, Michelle Pidgeon, of Cartlidge House, Accourd Housing Association and Robert Platt, of Oldbury Grange, Morris Care, are the shortlisted three in the Carer of the Year Award - Dementia Care.

Mr Pallett said: "The shortlisted candidates should be extremely proud of themselves as I know there were a lot of entries this year and it has been difficult to come up with the final three for each category.

"Having seen carers in action I know the job is not an easy one and I am really pleased to be able to be a part of recognising the wonderful work they do."

Andrea added: "When we are helping families to find care, services and assistance for their relatives, we are always looking for the best and these carers are some of the best in their field.

"Huge congratulations must go to all of those shortlisted."

The 2012 Care Awards Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin is now in its sixth successful year and now has 14 categories.

Debbie Price, of Shropshire Partners in Care who run the awards, said: "Shropshire Partners in Care would like to acknowledge and thank the sponsors, without their support the awards would not happen."

The winners in each of the categories will be announced on Friday 12th October at The International Centre, Telford.
