Shropshire marketing events set to help small businesses
Small businesses across Shropshire are receiving a helping hand with their marketing at masterminding events across the county, with the newest venue launching this month.

The two-hour #focusonmarketing evening events are currently held in Shrewsbury and Telford and bring together businesses to learn, swap ideas and take part in discussions on the latest small business marketing thinking.
The sessions are led by Telford-based marketing consultant Claire Dowdall and have expanded across the county following great feedback from those businesses taking part.
She said: “A lot of businesses do not have the funds to turn to an external marketing consultant, or are not ready to hand marketing tasks to others.
“This means marketing is an activity that many small businesses aim to do themselves but often fail to execute effectively because they do not know enough about what they should and shouldn’t be doing.
“#focusonmarketing brings together small business owners together to learn from each other, share experiences and knowledge and is a forum for supporting peers to embrace all that the wide subject of marketing has to offer.
“It is informal and although I lead the group I don’t talk at people and each event has a different focus such as branding, beating the competition and embracing the web.”
To add to the Shrewsbury and Telford events, the newest venue will be launched on the 16th October at Booka Bookshop in Oswestry. Entry to the launch event is free
The topics discussed during the sessions are also shared virtually on Twitter to allow other businesses to join together and learn more about marketing through social media.
