Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is celebrating after its recent Oswestry expo was hailed a huge success by those involved.

The all-day expo, was held at the Lion Quays in Oswestry and saw more than 80 attendees at the breakfast networking event, and a further 43 companies from across the county exhibiting at the expo throughout the day.
The event saw many speakers and seminars, including John Donnelly, former Norwich City footballer and ‘Midland Entrepreneur of the Year’ who shared his experiences within the business community, and his journey to becoming a success in the travel industry.
Teresa Rowe, Events Manager at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The event was a huge success with many businesses coming along to network and learn about the experiences of other firms within the county. The venue was also fantastic and we would like to say a direct thank you to those who exhibited and attended, and are already looking forward to 2013, where we have further events and expos planned.”
Richard Sheehan, Managing Director of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, explained: “The Oswestry expo was a resounding success, footfall was high, and we welcomed many businesses and professionals from a wide section of industry and commerce. As a county-wide Chamber we were particularly pleased to be able to so firmly demonstrate our commitment to Shropshire’s market towns, and our support for both the local and wider business community.”
An attendee at the event, Peter Stokes, Operations Manager at Micro Plus Computers said: “The event was very well run with a good attendance throughout. It was great to see so many people coming into Oswestry looking to do business with other local companies. During the day we gained leads and contacts that could mean well over £70,000 of business that we would not have achieved without attending the event.”
