Business owners across Shropshire are invited to attend a special event as part of a campaign aiming to reduce the rising levels of youth unemployment in the county by encouraging 18-24 year olds to start up their own business.

As part of the Young Britain initiative, the Changing Lives NOW! event will be held on the 13th November from 7:00pm - 11:00pm at the Telford International Centre. Tickets to the event cost £25 with all funds raised going to help the campaign.

Guests will be served an irresistible supper menu in a British picnic box, they will hear stories from local young entrepreneurs and get to dance the rest of the night away to live music from one of the country’s finest rock bands, Bad Press. The evening’s entertainment will be overseen by super-skilled Master of Ceremonies, Eric Smith from BBC Radio Shropshire.

Young Britain is a new campaign launched in Telford that aims to steer young people away from unemployment by providing everything they need to effectively ‘make their own job’ and become a self-employed entrepreneur.

The Young Britain team will arrange start up loans, business advice, workshops, mentoring and even new ‘business in a box’ concepts.

Fay Easton, Shropshire’s StartUp Britain Local Champion and Co-Founder of Young Britain, explained: “This promises to be a great evening, some of the youngsters that we have already helped on their way will also be on hand to share their heart-warming success stories and I truly believe that the Age of Entrepreneurship is upon us. There has never been a better time to launch a business, self-employment really is a viable alternative to the traditional jobs market and provides young people with a profitable and productive alternative to catastrophic unemployment.”

“Interest in the Changing Lives NOW! event has already been high, and ticket numbers are limited so I would urge anyone interested in securing a place to call the team at Young Britain on 01952 677230 or book directly on the website www.ChangingLivesNow.eventbrite.co.uk - and invite your family, friends and kids who might just want to start their own business,” Fay concluded.
