The streets of Telford are set to be transformed into scenes from Willy Wonker’s factory when a huge chocolate give-away is launched.

Businesses team up for massive chocolate giveaway in Telford

Staff from the RMP Group have teamed up with bosses from Magna Specialist Confectioners, both based on Stafford Park, to give children more than just an advert calendar chocolate this Christmas.

The huge pile of chocolate disks have been donated by Magna to the RMP Group where staff will hand them out to youngsters across the town.

Trevor Bate, director of RMP Events said: “The latest donation of chocolate by Magna is overwhelming and we are most grateful for their support.

“We have got the chocolate under guard 24/7 until we can find the sweet lovers of Telford to take it off our hands – I don’t think we’ll have any problems with that though.

“I am now appealing for parish councils to contact us if they think the children in their community deserve a share of the massive pile of chocolate.”

The two companies team up every year to organise the chocolate giveaway but this is the second time this year the company has handed over free chocolate.

In April Magna gave the RMP Group 2,000 Easter eggs to give to needy children.

Mr Bate added: “Through our work with the successful event side of the business, we meet thousands of children and we know how much they like chocolate.

“But what is important to us is that children are given a special treat who may not otherwise enjoy such a luxury or children who have done something to deserve it.

“We want people within the community to contact us with their stories, especially parish councils who are at the heart of the community.”
