SP Holding Group’s Renault Trucks authorised repairer dealership has experienced impressive growth during 2012 – driven by customer confidence in the quality of its service and the increasing popularity of Renault commercial vehicles.

The dealership, based at the group’s Telford headquarters, has grown rapidly since it was launched in 2011.

Its success reflects SP Holding Group’s strategy, accelerated over the last 12 months, of developing a range of powerful, integrated support services for the utilities and logistics industries.

Group Commercial Director James Walker said: “Renault Trucks is a key part of our business development strategy, along with expanding our Trailercare trailer maintenance and repair brand and our contract hire service.

“Our aim is to provide UK logistics customers with a total truck and trailer service.”

Since the dealership’s launch, the number of tractor units maintained has grown by 60%, the number of repair and maintenance customers is up 44% and the number of tractor units on long-term maintenance agreements has risen by 43%.

Among the dealership’s many new customers is Dale Brothers, based at Hortonwood, Telford, one of the UK’s leading specialists in temperature-controlled transport. SP Holding maintains its 23 Renault Premium tractor units, which form the bulk of its 40-strong truck fleet.

Dale Brothers Managing Director Geoff Dale said: “We have major contracts with food producers and supermarkets who demand 100% service excellence, so it is vital that our fleet is kept in optimum condition and on the road, where it is most profitable.

“SP Holding has impressed us with their willingness and ability to go the extra mile to make sure we get the service we need. We’ve built up a good working relationship. It’s good to know they’re right here in Telford when we need them.”

Tony Williams, Operations Manager for SP Holding Renault Trucks, said: “We always aim to live up to the watchword that ‘Renault Trucks Deliver’. We’ve been pleased that this has contributed to our success in 2012.”

SP Holding’s success partly reflects the growing popularity of the Renault Trucks range, which spans the light commercial, medium, heavy duty, long haul and construction sectors.

All vehicles in the Renault Trucks range have a strong reputation for driver comfort, flexibility, performance, fuel efficiency, cost-effectiveness and low environmental impact.
